
Matthew Crespi
Matt Crespi is a Research Fellow at SHSF. Matt is a researcher at Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned his PhD in Public Policy and Management and co-founded the Corporate Startup Lab, a group focused on studying and promoting transformational innovation within large organizations. He's a social scientist by training, specializing in applied social network analysis, most recently focusing on improving efficiency and slowing the spread of COVID-19 in hospital settings.
As an advisor and consultant, Matt has provided policy analysis and expertise to political campaigns and governments at every level in the United States (local, state, and federal). He's worked with the federal Department of Transportation, advised the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on autonomous vehicle policy, built budget management tools for local governments, and been on the financial advisory team for over a billion dollars of municipal bond issuance. This past year, he served as co-director of analytics and modeling for the Pennsylvania Democrats' voter protection team, a role which he reprised for the Georgia runoffs.
